About Me.

I am Devanshi, a North Carolina based artist specializing in acrylic landscape painting. Though I was educated in Electronics and Communications and worked in the Semiconductor industry, I have always had a passion for art. I started to paint in 2020 after taking few art workshops and started selling my art in the neighborhood. Later in year 2022, I started to display my work in galleries and local art fair.I am particularly drawn to the beauty of nature and I love to capture trees and grasslands with their varying shades of green as an example. Through my artwork, I strive to create vivid impressions of the natural world that we can all appreciate.

Welcome! I am so happy to have you here to join me in the creative journey

Painting Medium and Process

When working with acrylics, I like to start with a rough sketch of my painting on canvas. Then, I underpaint it mostly with burnt sienna to create a strong base and add some key light and shade points. I also like to use a highlighter to add features and to draw attention to certain areas. When painting, I always start from the farthest to nearest point to create a realistic depth. Lastly, I add sunlight falling on my subject to show the brilliance and effect it can have. Acrylics dry faster than other mediums, making them perfect for this technique.

Painting detailed landscape

I have been painting detailed landscapes in acrylic since 2021, and some of my most popular works include The Quebec City Garden, paintings from around my neighbourhood, and my Jordan Lake and Apex Highway 64 paintings. Capturing the intricate details of a landscape in this style of painting takes patience and dedication, but the end result is always worth it. I am constantly striving to perfect my craft and create even more beautiful pieces.

Painting a bit loosely

I started experimenting by simplifying my subjects. I used a limited color palette to draw attention to the shapes and composition. To give the painting more effect, I added a focal point, usually a bright color or a sharp contrast. With this technique, I was able to create more dynamic, vibrant and expressive artworks. I also learned to layer and blend colors to create a rich texture and depth.

For Commissions

I offer my paintings on Canvas (Professional Series) and Acrylic Paper (Strathmore Acrylic Paper). For commissioned work, I ask for a photograph (Digital works best) as my reference image I usually paint in below sizes but I am open to request :)
